The AIC views public art as integral to the fabric of our community. It has the potential to create livable cities, to enhance neighborhood identities, to strengthen economic development and tourism, to educate children and adults, and to enrich the spirit and pride of our citizens. Calhoun County hosts numerous outstanding public art pieces from murals to sculpture to landscape architecture.
The county's public art program was officially launched in 2006. Five murals across Calhoun County were unveiling in 2007. In 2008, another mural was created and placed on a building in the Fort Custer Industrial Park.
