Artist Statement
I enjoy the challenge of drawing and painting in the "representational style", which means very realisitic versus abstract. Having the hobby of woodcarving for many years, it was a natural transition to drawing and then painting. Various media including graphite pencil, charcoal, pastel, oil, watercolor, and even colored pencil. Right now my work is a passionate hobby but I am soon going to produce works for sale at the Art Center in Battle Creek. Will be "Western Art"
Artist Bio
Am retired and looking forward to each new day! My art training has been mostly from taking classes and reading books and LOTS of practice. Trying new styles and media has been very rewarding. My principal mentor has been Bill Williams of Battle Creek.. With each painting or drawing, I learn!
My sculpture work is primarily wood, but have done clay modeling, and bronze modeling using the lost wax process. Have taken several classes at the KIA in Kalamazoo.
