Artist Statement
Art is a language that expresses the human experience
Artist Bio
Michael Peck launched his professional career in fine and decorative painting when he moved to NYC in the mid 80's. He studied with NY artist Elizabeth Dow, creating painted environments for both residential and commercial home interior, hospitality and retail settings. After apprenticing with NY wallcovering and fabric designer Anya Larkin, Michael & Elizabeth developed a line of hand painted wallcovering. Elizabeth Dow Ltd. is now an international, high end wallcovering Co.
During this period, Tromp l' oeil became a specialty of Peck's, which he taught at Parson's School of Design in NYC.
In the 90's, Michael teamed with world famous designer, Carleton Varney, creating custom environments for world class hotels and high-end residential interiors.
Now Michael works with Michigan artists Lori Feldpausch and Bonnie Peck, creating magical and intricate ornamental paintings, which are reproduced on glass, wood and fabrics , making a variety of fine art and home interior products (see PECK & PAUSCH).
MICHAEL PECK & CO., (see MICHAEL PECK & CO.) also offers custom painting services, which include: DECORATIVE FINISHES for walls, floors, ceilings and furniture, ORNAMENTAL PAINTING, TROMP L' OEIL and MURAL PAINTING.
Independently, as a fine artist, MICHAEL PECK creates landscapes and architectural DRAWINGS & PAINTINGS in pen & ink, pencil, watercolor and acrylics. (pictured above)
